Long Time, No See (Or Write)

And, I've missed this forum.

Since my last official post in November 2009, much has changed--most notably, my employment status. And that's where I will re-launch this blog. I am now the Sports Director at KRGV-TV--the ABC affiliate in the Rio Grande Valley, which is the very south tip of Texas. I am the 6 & 10pm weekday sports anchor, a job that is as fun as it is challenging. The station is owned by the Manship family of Louisiana, under the name of "Mobile Video Tapes". The Manships are wonderful people to work for, and I feel honored and humbled to be employed with their company.

However, this blog is mine, and therefore I must publicly post this disclaimer: the opinions and views expressed here are mine and mine only, and not those of Mobile Video Tapes, Inc., or KRGV-TV. They are editorial by nature, and to be taken as such. And it my responsibility to take ownership of my words here.

Now, how you interpret them? That's your responsibility--and you'll find that **personal responsibility** is a common theme in many of the posts here. If you don't like the idea of personal responsibility, you won't necessarily like what will be posted here. And that would be a **you** problem. As I have in the past, I'll back up the views/observations expressed here with facts. That having been said, I welcome dissent, especially if it's the kind that's backed up with facts--rather than some unwritten cultural rule/rules that we just choose not to talk about.

This blog is about bringing isssues out of the shadows and into the light. And to tell a joke or two. Or to tell a story or two. It's about **real life**. And you can join in on the ride--and the only cost is a few moments of your time to read. Then you can take what you like, and leave the rest.
